Passion of the Tchotke and Stations of the Kitsch

I am a nice person.  I really am.   I value the pursuit of holiness and religious iconography as much as—if not more—than the next person.

But every year this time of year I succumb to my “Jesus Died to Take Away Your Sins, Not Your Mind” fervor:

I have to re-visit my favorite goingjesus.com Holy Week series:

Passion of the Tchotke

and

Stations of the Kitsch

Just one example:

Station 7: “Jesus Falls the Second Time”

Who wouldn’t fall for bling like that??

  1. Mom says:

Thanks for the laugh. Did you notice the Christmas nail?

    • La Peregrina says:

Is it bad that we own that? It’s a shame that the Christmas ornament is the one Holy Week decoration we have — I would much rather own the touch-lamp set of Jesus “hung on a cross” 😉
